New MM book in the works. I’ve been busy writing this spring and expect the new novel to be published early Q2 2026. This will be my second new novel for this year. I wanted to publish before the end of March but better make it ready than soon, right?
This will not be a MPREG or paranormal Omegaverse story, as I have shifted to writing contemporary MM fiction for now. The setting is college and it complements my earlier release this year: Not Into Guys (sports, college, first MM experience).
Why college and first experience? I find this stage in life to be the most inspiring, and the trope of “first experience” is one I enjoy and read myself. The age of 20-25 is a fantastic time to be alive. It’s a stage in life where we are often unsure but also willing to explore and go for it. Great combo, imho 👍

What’s the holdup? My first books were so-so and they should have been edited before release (several years ago). They did get a polish now in 2026 but going back and working on already established material is difficult and doesn’t always pan out as planned.
Lesson learned and I now dedicate more time to pre-publish editing and doing more to deliver a quality read.
It’s taken a little longer than expected (not by much) but now the final manuscript is almost done. Cover and blurb remain, but all in all, I’m on track for release in April 2026 💐

I mostly use Word for early story drafting and then migrate to Novelcrafter for the fleshing out of the story. In early days I used Scrivener, but Novelcrafter wins when it comes to organizing, scene beat creation and completion of narrative. The only thing it lacks, imho, is export of file formats that you need for publishing. This is where Word comes in handy again as it converts just fine.
