The verdict is in! The poll in this thread: https://ashleigh-lyons.beehiiv.com/p/poll-the-best-mm-romance-authors is till open, but enough readers have answered this far that we can see a winner, by quite a margin: TJ Klune.
The poll is skewed by the limited selection I chose and the niche we are in. Also, the winner is a trade published author (TOR Books) and writes more mainstream novels with um… somewhat less explicit heat than some of the others. So yeah, in afterthought, perhaps not a fair poll. Whatever 😃
TJ Klune is the winner.
Second place is shared by Ashe Moon and LA Witt.
Riley Hart was just behind second place.
Everyone else got way less votes.

Ashe Moon. Fun characters, page-turning action, engrossing worldbuilding, and of course, steamy, heart-pounding gay omegaverse romance are all staples in an Ashe Moon story. Many of Ashe's series take place within shared universes, building upon each other to create a rich and exciting journey for you to experience! All books contain lots of heat! Mature readers only!

L.A. Witt is a romance and suspense author who has at last given up the exciting nomadic lifestyle of the military spouse (read: her husband finally retired). She now resides in Pittsburgh, where the potholes are determined to eat her car and her cats are endlessly taunted by a disrespectful squirrel named Moose. In her spare time, she can be found painting in her art room or destroying her voice at a Pittsburgh Penguins game.

Riley Hart’s love of all things romance shines brightly in everything she writes. Her primary focus is Male/Male romance but under various pen names, her prose has touched practically every part of the spectrum of love and relationships. The common theme that ties them all together is stories told from the heart. A hopeless romantic herself, Riley is a lover of character-driven plots, many with flawed and relatable characters.
